Chatsworth's Les Sisters Rescued From Closing

Les Sisters' Southern Kitchen which was scheduled to shut down at the end of July following a landlord dispute, will remain open under new management, owner Kevin Huling said Monday.

"The past two years have been difficult," he said.

"It's been a crazy week," Huling said, as he first prepared to shut down the business after nearly 30 years in Chatsworth, and then announced the rescue plan. The down-home Louisiana-style eatery at 21818 Devonshire St. is rated "very good to excellent" by the Zagat survey and four out of five stars by Yelp.com.

While some financial details are still being worked out, he'll be turning over the kitchen to daughter Jessica Huling who will be the new manager, he said. Although he will remain the "face" of the restaurant for a while, he plans to step away.

"Everything else will remain the same," he said. "We'll have the same staff, the same servers."

Meanwhile, Huling said he will continue to be involved in community activities and the Chatsworth-Porter Ranch Chamber of Commerce, of which he is a past-president.
